Healthy Snacks & Menu Planning Made Easy !

As a mom I am always on the lookout for healthy snacks that my toddler will eat. Sometimes I am lucky but other time he just does not like it. Recently I was introduced to Gerber Graduates snacks for preschoolers. To my surprise my 3 year old likes them. Out of the 3 samples (see below) that we received he did not have a favorite.... they were all a HIT with hit! One of my favorite things about these snacks is that they are great for the diaper bag or mom purse. Yesterday we went to the zoo, I put some of the Gerber Graduates in my bag and when my little one wanted a snack I was able to give him one instead of having to buy something there which was not a healthy choice.

Here is the info of the snacks we received:

Fruit Twists are real fruit snacks that are perfect for on the go snacking – best of all they are made with 99% real concentrated fruit and juice and provide ½ of a preschooler serving of fruit per twist as well as 25% of the daily preschooler amount of antioxidant vitamin C. The great thing about these Fruit Twists, is that your child can pull them apart and eat one flavor at a time, or eat them both at once, combining the two flavors. Either way, your child can choose what they like best!

Cereal Twists are made with whole grains and two flavored yogurt fillings. Each cereal bar is individually wrapped for convenient on-the-go snacking and comes in three delicious flavors: Strawberry Blueberry, Banana Peach and Raspberry Vanilla.

Chewy Granola bars are made with whole grain rolled oats and wheat flakes for a unique soft texture that preschoolers love – they’re naturally flavored and provide 10% daily value for 4 vitamins and minerals. They have 6g of whole grains per bar and have no preservatives or artificial flavors.

If you are like me and are looking for ways to provided a healthier diet for your kids, I want to share with you info on a cool interactive site I was recently introduced to. It is the Start Healthy, Stay Healthy Menu Planner. This menu planner helps address many of the concerns identified in the latest FITS research study by generating nutritionally balanced menus tailored to your child’s developmental stage, and making it easier for parents to make healthy choices for their children.
