I have heard of Shi Shu bamboo baby blankets before but was excited to learn that they also carry bamboo handwoven throws for the home. If I am sitting on the sofa I always have a blanket or throw to cover up with, no matter what the temperature is. I was thrilled when I was asked to review a bamboo throw from Shi Shu Home collection.
What makes this throw different from others ? It is made of 60% cotton and 40% bamboo which makes it 100% natural. Shi Shu Style features Bamboo, a textile made from the pulp of bamboo grass which is light, strong, soft, smooth and naturally antibacterial. Shi Shu Style allows only the best fabrics next to your family's skin.
When it arrived the first thing I noticed is how nice the throw was packaged (see photo on left). It is ready to give as that perfect gift for any occasion ( perfect house warming gift ) or as a special treat for yourself.
I have owned many throws in the past and from my experience after washing them they never look the same, sometimes this happens as soon as the first wash. After I opened my Shi Shu throw I put it in the wash and crossed my fingers...... To my surprise it looked great, no shrinking and the fringe was not all tangled. Photo on the right is after wash.
I have to say I was surprised with the size of the throw it measures 50" x 60", with other throws I have if I want to cover up all the way it seems my feet always are uncovered......but not with this one.
Now it was time for the real test.... time to curl up and watch some TV. I really like the feel of this throw, it was very soft and it was not heavy ( some throws in the past have felt like they weigh a ton when I cover with them). This throw has a permanent home on my sofa !
