Live for the Moment reveals how one person's life-changing event inspired them to live life to the fullest. Host Jeff Probst (Survivor) takes someone on a series of adventures and experiences that create special life moments with their family and friends. This person shares their inspiring insights on how they now live their life differently and, in doing so, will possibly change the way others live, too.
In the one hour special airing tonight - January 28th, 2010 Live for the Moment introduces viewers to Roger Childs. Roger is a married 41 year old father of two sons. He loves life and was always looking for adventure. One day a profound pain in his arms sent him to the doctor. The diagnosis was grim. Roger was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The doctor told Roger that he had about 2-5 years left to live. With the help of Jeff Probst, Roger and his family head off for adventures of a life time.
I have to say, when I watch the DVD I received of this pilot episode, while watching it I cried (shh..) like a baby. It was very heart warming and really makes you think " what if I was told I would not live much longer". I was really touched by Rogers strength and his determination to make memories with his family that would last a life time. What took away from this show is to not take anything or anyone for granted, make time for what is important and live by the shows title ... LIVE FOR THE MOMENT!
