Sensodyne ProNamel for Children
As a mom I am always looking for a way to protect my boys teeth. I was happy to learn about Sensodyne ProNamel for children. We received a sample to try and I was very pleased with it and now this will be what my boys use from now on !Sensodyne ProNamel for Children has a kid-friendly gentle mint flavor which my boys seem to like !
Kid-popular foods and drinks like soda, fruit juice, ketchup, raisins, citrus fruit and yogurt can contribute to acid erosion, a growing and irreversible problem. Fortunately, there are a few simple things parents can do to protect their children, including limiting acidic foods and beverages, and encouraging them to drink juices with a straw.
What is ProNamel for Children?Sensodyne ProNamel for Children is the first children’s toothpaste scientifically proven to re-harden tooth enamel, helping to protect against acid erosion as well as cavities.
How it Works :
Specially developed by dentists and experts in acid erosion to provide a foundation for acid wear protection, ProNamel for Children has an optimized fluoride formulation to help re-harden enamel, making it more resistant to acids. Its low abrasivity helps avoid further enamel wear during tooth brushing and it is pH neutral.
Protecting Children's Teeth From Acid Erosion: Tips For Parents
- Know which foods and beverages are high in acid and may contribute to enamel wear. About one in eight moms recently surveyed said they are not sure what foods and beverages could contribute to acid erosion in children. Foods and beverages with high acidic content include soda, fruit juice, ketchup, raisins, citrus fruit and yogurt.
- Encourage children to drink acidic beverages like fruit juice with a straw and to avoid holding them in the mouth to help minimize contact with teeth.
- Have children brush their teeth before eating, or have them wait at least one hour after. Nearly half of moms (45 percent) mistakenly believe that it’s best for a child to brush less than 20 minutes after eating and drinking acidic foods and beverages, but that is the time when their teeth are most susceptible to further damage because the enamel may have been softened.
- Talk to their child’s dentist. More than four out of five moms (83 percent) said they have not had a conversation with their child’s dentist about acid erosion.
Directions for use
Brush twice daily for 2 minutes
*Children over the age of 6 years: Use as you would an adult toothpaste.
*This product is specifically recommended for children over 6 years. However, your dentist may recommend a 1450 ppm fluoride toothpaste for children aged 6 years and under if they are at risk of cavities and/or acid erosion and need extra protection.
*Children of 6 years and younger: Use a pea-sized amount for supervised brushing to minimize swallowing. In case of intake of fluoride from other sources consult a dentist or doctor.

My little grandson is a real fruit eater. I didn't think about the acidic values for each...my daughter in law might want to read this post.

My daughter is too young for this toothpaste but it was nice to learn about the acidic values for those different foods. I'm glad the calcium in milk helps counter the acid erosion. Thanks for posting this!
