TNT The Closer & Raising The Bar
New Season Premieres Monday 6/8/09!

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to watch the season premiere of The Closer & Raising the Bar before they air on Monday June 8th on TNT. (You can keep reading, no spoilers !) I am a big fan of The Closer and I do not think I have missed an episode. The Closer is starting it's 5 season and lets just say it did not disappoint ! This was the first time I watched Raising The Bar which is staring it's 2nd season I have to say since I grew up watching "Saved by the Bell" seeing Mark-Paul Gosselaar in this series was nice ( shhhhh... don't tell hubby but that was my jr. high crush LOL). I really enjoyed the season premiere of Raising The Bar and it is now on my must watch list !

Since its premiere in 2005, THE CLOSER has earned numerous ad-supported cable viewership records, ranking as the #1 series of all time and scoring the #1 series telecast of all time. Each year, the show’s audience grows larger, with its 2008 episodes averaging more than 7.3 million viewers. It is produced by the team behind Nip/Tuck.

Jerry and Marcus go head-to-head in a difficult case involving a barber and his drug-dealing nephew as TNT’s gripping legal drama RAISING THE BAR, created by Steven Bochco & David Feige, returns for a new season

In the dramatic season premiere, Jerry defends a barber charged with allowing his nephew to sell crack out of his barbershop, a crime for which the barber is now being tried. Marcus, under orders from Balco to “take the hard line” in prosecuting cases, refuses to give any leeway. Roz decides to start handling cases again, but her first one hits a snag that could ruin a woman’s life and the life of her son. Bobbi’s divorce proceedings get underway, but it’s not too long before she gets thrown a curve ball. And Jerry gets ribbed about his hair during a party celebrating his birthday.

This summer, court will be back in session with the return of this emotionally powerful legal drama from Emmy®-winning producer Steven Bochco. The series follows the cases and lives of young lawyers who work on opposite sides – the public defender’s office and the district attorney’s office – as well as those who sit in judgment on their cases. Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue) stars as idealistic defender Jerry Kellerman, while Gloria Reuben (ER) plays his passionate and protective boss, Rosalind Whitman. And Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) plays imperious Judge Trudy Kessler, who has dreams of becoming the next district attorney. Co-starring in the series are Teddy Sears (Ugly Betty), Natalia Cigliuti (All My Children), Melissa Sagemiller (Sleeper Cell), Currie Graham (Boston Legal), J. August Richards (Conviction) and Jonathan Scarfe (Into the West).
