Germy Wormy

What is Germy Wormy ?
Germy Wormy Teaches kids ages 2 - 7 the 3 keys to preventing the spread of germs and illness.
1. Cough or sneeze into your elbow - Given that a young child can touch over 300 surfaces in 1/2 hour, the worst place for them to cough and sneeze is their hands. That is a guarantee that the germs will be spread faster than light and soon get everyone around the child sick.
2. Keep germs away from your face - In the Germy Wormy Protecting the Fort puppet show on the DVD, Alison learns how she can keep from getting germs from Jimmy by doing Germ Stoppers 5 - the top 5 things kids can do to keep from getting germs and getting sick. Germy Wormy shows kids the actions that they do that can get them sick !
3. Germ Stoppers 5 teaches good hand washing practices as one of the keys to illness prevention.

We received a box of Germy Wormy Disposable Sleeves , 1 DVD Germy Wormy Protecting the Fort Puppet Show which is a Sesame Street like puppet show on DVD that entertains kids while educating them about germs . The Puppet Show surprisingly kept my 2y/o attention and my 9 y/o enjoyed it even though it is recommended for ages 2-7 y/o. I was also emailed the Parent Guide . The Parents guide includes:
  • Germ Stoppers 5 Activity (3) - Instructions for a fun activity that makes the invisible germs visible and experience how they spread. An eye opening experience for kids and parents alike!On-going Encouragement (4) - What to say when they do it right or wrong
  • Germy Wormy Stars at Home Reward charts (5)to use to reinforce good behavior
  • A letter you can give to your child care facility (6). If the kids at your child care are Germy Wormy germ aware too that means less germs coming home to you and your family!
One of the best tidbits from the Parent's Guide is a great activity that lets your child visualize germs and the effects of not containing coughs and sneezes in their elbow.

Are you still asking why Germy Wormy Disposable Sanitary Sleeves ?
Unlike the tissue, the elbow is always there. Unlike like their hand, the elbow doesn't touch everything. Try touching a surface with your elbow - it is hard to do.
  • Go from germs everywhere... to germs in one place and tossable.
  • Kids have so much fun "feeding" the Germy Wormy they won't even realize they are learning a healthy habit!
  • Catches the germs as they are released so none in the air, none on surfaces
  • Disposable - toss those germs away!
  • Kids quickly learn to automatically bring up their elbow when coughs and sneezes suddenly come on
  • Protects their clothes
Germy Wormy Wants to come to your house and teach your family about germs ! Germy Wormy is offering 3 of my readers a Trial Size pack which includes :
  • DVD of Germy Wormy Protecting the Fort Puppet Show
  • 10 Disposable Sleeves
  • Parent Guide

I found this under FAQ, which I was wondering about a washable version, now I am gonna have to check out that other site too!

Is there a washable version of Germy Wormy available?

No, the only version is the disposable. Funny thing though, at the same time I was thinking up Germy Wormy, Wendy Piret in LA was thinking up the Sniffle Sleeve which is a 100% cotton, washable sleeve. The sleeve has a patch where essential oils can be applied and comes with information on the safe and effective use of essential oils for children. Check out her site www.snifflesleeve.com

The Germy Wormy only comes in disposable form but they let you know that a washable cotton type is available at another site and even give you the link. I thought that was a good way for a business
to be confident of their product to tell about others. Thank you!

How often should I change a Germy Wormy?

That all depends on how much the child is coughing and sneezing. If it is a lot, you might want to change it out more often. If there is visible mucus on the Germy Wormy it should be changed out so that it does not drip or get on anything else.
